Last Call Creative Fellowship Inaugural Fellows

More about the Last Call Creative Fellowship

Last Call is launching its next Oral History Research Project. This research focuses on spaces of Black Trans Joy in New Orleans and the South. This includes  but is not limited too :  Pageants, Balls, Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs, Bars, and Social Movement spaces! This research is an effort of highlighting the rich history of Black Trans people in the South and expanding our narratives beyond those of struggle and resilience, to include joy!

This research will be housed in our inaugural “Last Call Creative Fellowship” in which we bring together a group of Black Trans and Gender Non Conforming (TGNC) artists and organizers for collective  professional and artistic development! Over  the course of a year or so, fellows will be paid to conduct and creatively interpret oral histories. The fellowship also includes workshops, community events, and learning exchanges with other organizations doing the work of investing in Black TGNC folk across the South!

If you are interested in growing your community and deepening your artistic practice, we wanna grow with you!

Stay Tuned, over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about each fellow with you!
